Phil Yurecka
Biography
Mr. Yurecka was born in Rochester, New York, and has lived in Florida for 35 years. He completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Florida, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration and graduating summa cum laude. Mr. Yurecka obtained his juris doctor degree at Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, nationally recognized for trial advocacy training, where he also served as an editor of the Stetson Law Review.
Mr. Yurecka began his legal career in 1995, focusing on representation of workers compensation and personal injury claimants. In 2000, Mr. Yurecka joined Reynolds & Stowell, P.A., in St. Petersburg, where he developed a trial practice and tried several cases in the personal injury, motor vehicle negligence, and insurance defense context. Mr. Yurecka then spent several years as house trial counsel for Progressive Insurance in its Tampa office, trying cases in defense of the company and its insureds.
Now a member of Shelton McKean with nearly 20 years of defense experience, Mr. Yurecka continues to defend insurance companies and their insureds and maintains a trial practice throughout the State of Florida. He lives in Clearwater with his wife, two children, and one dog.
