VERDICT ALERT – Polk County, FL. Another Shelton | McKean verdict, this time in Polk County. This case involved an admitted liability motorcycle versus SUV accident in Lakeland. The Plaintiff was thrown into my client’s vehicle and then landed on the ground while his motorcycle was pinned underneath the vehicle. The Plaintiff later treated at the ER and ultimately underwent a low back surgery and more recently, a neck surgery (which the Plaintiff recently dropped as a claim). The Plaintiff asked for a minimum of 250k and the jury only awarded roughly 4k for the ER bill. Due to a long expired proposal for settlement, the net verdict will result in a judgment against the Plaintiff to include the defense fees and costs.
